The Nigerian National team will play England in a friendly match at Wembley on June 2. It would help to prepare England for their World Cup against Tunisia as another African team. The Super Eagles are in a group with Iceland, Croatia and Argentina, whom they have been paired with in five out of the six times they have qualified for the World Cup.
Nigeria has played England on two previous occasions and have not managed to beat them. The last time was at the 2002 World Cup, when they played a goalless draw.
This will be Nigeria’s first visit to Wembley since they visited the old Wembley in 1995, on the back of their excellent performance at their first World Cup the previous year.
