West Bromwich Albion boss Darren Moore has been reflecting on his stint as caretaker manager after his team ended their campaign in the Premier League with a 2-0 loss at Crystal Palace. He said:

“Over the six games this was a very difficult game. We were fired up for it all throughout the week. Once the first goal went in it was difficult to get back. Take nothing away from Palace. They are a good team. We always want to create chances to score goals.”

When asked if things changed the moment they learnt they had been relegated he said :”From Tuesday night it was difficult to get ourselves up for it. I have said to the crew not to be disappointed and let this result affect our last 6 weeks. We did not want to go down with the most premiership losses. We have shown pride and passion by stopping the rot.”

When asked if it was his wish to be the next West Brom Manager Moore said:

“It is important that the club comes together to implement a plan.  It will be wrong to talk about Darren Moore now. I will leave it to everybody to decide.  What I have done is answer the call of the club to step in as a caretaker role.

The thing for me is to make sure the club moves forward. We have been 8 years in the PL.  The main thing is to learn from it. I am really proud and pleased. There has been a group of people who have been a part of these six weeks but it has been really difficult.”

On players who might be leaving he said: ”We can sit here and speculate all day long but those players are under contract.”
